Step into a cozy haven where cats and coffee collide in the best way possible. Whether you’re here to relax, recharge, or connect with adoptable kitties, we’ve got you covered. Here’s what you can expect when you visit:

• Lots of Free Parking: We have free street parking, as well as parking in the rear (with wheelchair accessibility), and a full parking lot which we share with our neighbors at 16 Walnut Ave. SW.

• Warm & Inviting Atmosphere: Our café is designed to feel like a home away from home. Enjoy locally sourced coffee from Red Rooster Coffee in Floyd, VA, and freshly baked treats while soaking in the calming vibes of our space.

• Two Cat Rooms to Explore: Meet our adoptable cats in two unique spaces—the intimate ground floor cat room for more one-on-one connections, or the sunny upstairs cat lounge, perfect for those looking for a playful group experience.

Important Notes for Your Visit:

Admission Fee: This fee allows us to exist and continue providing a unique, cozy, home-like experience for our adoptable cats. Unlike the cages they might otherwise be in, our café gives them a comfortable, enriching environment where their personalities can shine as they wait for their forever homes. Without these fees, we couldn’t afford to keep our doors open and give these cats the care and comfort they deserve.

• Adults and children over 7 years old: $10 for 30 minutes or $20 for an hour (plus admissions tax, which is required by Roanoke City)

• Children under 7 years old: $5 for 30 minutes or $10 for an hour (plus admissions tax, which is required by Roanoke City)

(currently 30-minute reservations are only available on a walk-in basis. This will change in January)

Families with children: We ask that parents supervise their children at all times to ensure they interact with the cats gently and respectfully. While we have cameras in place, we cannot monitor every moment or behavior as it happens.

If you notice a situation where a child may be acting unruly and a parent isn’t addressing it, please don’t hesitate to bring it to the attention of a staff member. Our priority is the safety and comfort of everyone, but first and foremost, the cats.

Check-In Process: Upon arrival, check in at the front desk. You’ll have the opportunity to place an order for coffee or prepackaged baked goods before heading to your reserved cat room. All walk-ins will be required to read and sign our waiver before entering the cat rooms. Online reservations will fill this out at time of online check out. We have rules in place to protect the cats and you! We will go over these rules and ensure your understanding before entry. We reserve the right to end your visit if we find you’re not following the rules we have in place, so please abide by them!

• The ground level room is smaller and holds fewer cats and fewer people, which allows for a more intimate experience. The number of cats may vary, as we work with shelters/rescues and have cats adopted regularly. If you'd like to check how many cats are currently in your reserved room, please email us at toebeancatcafe@gmail.com or message us on Facebook before your visit.

• If time and space allow, you’re welcome to visit both rooms during your reservation, as long as you sanitize your hands, take your shoes off, or, change your booties between rooms.

Protecting Our Cats: For the health and safety of our kitties, you’ll be asked to either remove your shoes or wear booties over them. This helps protect the cats from any outside germs, bacteria, or parasites. You will also be required to wash and/or sanitize your hands before entry into the cat rooms. We need to protect our feline residents and we take this very seriously.

The Upstairs Cat Lounge: This space consists of three rooms:

• A cozy main room with two couches and benches for seating.

• A sunroom with ample windows and natural light, featuring additional seating.

• A private retreat where cats can de-stress and enjoy some quiet time if needed.

• You will see plug-ins in our cat rooms that contain feline pheromones. These plug-ins do NOT contain any fragrance and are designed to help our cats acclimate and remain calm and comfortable in their space.

Reservation Timing: When your reservation is nearing its end, you’ll receive a five-minute reminder to wrap up and allow space for the next group to enter.

Food & Drinks: You’re welcome to bring baked goods and covered drinks into the cat rooms—just be careful and please do not feed the cats!

A Gentle Reminder About Our Cats

At The Toebean Cat Café, our cats are not performers—they are individuals with their own unique personalities and moods. While some may be playful and eager to interact, others might be sleepy or simply prefer to observe from afar during your visit.

We encourage you to embrace the calming, tranquil atmosphere of the café, even if the cats are in relaxation mode. Whether they choose to nap, explore, or engage with you, just being in their presence can be a soothing and rewarding experience. It’s cheaper than therapy!
